Cohere Arts are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund to support Unsung Heroes, a new project engaging children with their local heritage through archive research, songwriting and performance.
Working in partnership with Suffolk Archives, Asset Education and Britten Pears Arts, the project will see 4 Suffolk composers working with children from 13 primary schools across the region to co-create the Unsung Heroes Songbook, a set of songs telling the stories of everyday heroes from Suffolk’s history.
Children from 13 primary schools will join together to form a choir and perform the songs at Snape Maltings on 18th November 2023. This concert will form part of a wider event planned to mark the 10 year anniversary of Britten Pears Arts’ Friday Afternoons project.
