This week our High Spirits VI drama group were thrilled to welcome special guest Patrick Eade, who kindly provided a Q & A session as R & D for our new show which is set in a 1970’s local radio station.
Patrick shared recollections of his experience working for Radio Orwell 257 back in the 1970s and 80s, much to the delight of our group, who found many parallels with the characters and scenes they have been working to develop.
Patrick’s stories sparked memories for many of us who have fond memories of Radio Orwell, which was deeply embedded in the heart of Ipswich community life in its heyday.
Our aim is to stage our show next year, which also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the radio station’s launch.
