Cohere Arts are delighted to be one of 33 arts organisations and museums to have been awarded a share of £500,000 from Suffolk County Council’s Culture Project Fund.
Building on the success of our VI Arts Taster Programme, drama group and other creative projects providing specialist support and access to the arts for people living with sight loss, we are proud to have been awarded funds to expand and consolidate our arts provision for the visually impaired community in Suffolk.
Over the next 16 months we aim to carry out a consultation to ascertain needs and aspirations of the VI community across Suffolk. We’re delighted to be able to continue the wonderful work of our regular VI drama group, and extend our arts outreach programme bringing creative and cultural artist-led activities to members of Suffolk Sight’s 16 social clubs.
We’ll also offer training to artists wanting to adapt their practice to deliver participatory work with VI communities.
