Seasonal singing

This week we were in Sudbury welcoming in the festive season with members of the visually impaired community. Members of Suffolk Sight’s Sudbury social group decamped from their usual meeting place of The White Horse Pub over to the Friends Meeting House in Friars Street for a special festive singing workshop led by Cohere’s Amy Mallett.

We had a great time singing some well known Christmas tunes, exploring alternative wordings for carols, and learning a brand new Christmas song composed with our Tonic: Singing for health Ipswich group.

The workshop was part of our VI Arts Taster Programme, supported by the David & Jill Simpson Fund through Suffolk Community Foundation.

“I don’t normally sing and don’t consider myself a singer – but I enjoyed this. I think I surprised myself!”
