Much hilarity was had by all this afternoon when participants from Suffolk and London met online to begin our remote creative project HerStory: The Covid Chronicles.
We learned some libretto and movement from the opera’s drinking song; “The Revenue Man”. The song is inspired by the 18th Century smuggling community’s practice of getting their local customs officers drunk whenever a questionable shipment was due in.
Creative tasks for the next online workshop on 17th November include:
- Water-themed photographs or visual images
- Water-themed words, descriptions, poetry or prose
- Playing with cling film/cellophane and web cameras to create watery/underwater effects
