Live harp accompaniment at Gentle

Our first Gentle seated yoga session of 2023 offered a special treat as we were treated to a visit by Suffolk harpist Xenia Horne who provided live, responsive accompaniment to the session, which took place at Woodbridge Community Hall on Friday 6th January.

We were delighted to welcome 31 participants to the session, which is our best turn-out yet. Most attendees were regular visitors but it was lovely to also see some new faces for 45 minutes of seated yoga and complimentary cuppa afterwards. Many took the time to let us know how much they had enjoyed the experience of live music integrating with yoga instructor Imogen Hayward’s relaxing and encouraging workshop facilitation.

“Thank you for putting this lovely warm and caring yoga class experience together. Today having the opportunity to hear the harp playing was wonderful.”

Gentle participant feedback

“We thought your harpist was great, she appeared to sync with Imogen seamlessly.”

Gentle seated yoga to music sessions are suitable for all levels of experience of yoga from beginners to more advanced yogis, but most importantly offer an accessible route to activity, relaxation and wellbeing. Many of our attendees are living with health and mobility challenges, and are given a range of options to allow them to adapt the practice to suit their needs.

Gentle sessions take place every Friday at Woodbridge Community Hall from 10:30 – 12:00. No special equipment, exercise wear or booking required.

If you prefer to practise from the comfort of your own home or workplace, Imogen also delivers Gentle seated yoga to music sessions on Zoom every Monday 13:00 – 14:00. Email us for a Zoom link: coherearts@gmail.com.
